Greetings,
My name is Joshua Sampson. I am a writer, teacher, ex-journalist, and a lover of all folklore. When I was in my early 20s, I started a blog called *News from the Grassy Knoll* in which I lampooned pop culture by combining conspiracy and the news (e.g. the world discovered a senator was a reptoid after he ate a fly and shed his skin on stage). The blog was moderately successful (actually not at all).

Throughout my life, I have taken an interest in local folklore in my home state of Michigan and recently been writing a book about it. This got me thinking–I should start a blog about folklore and the strange and document these anomalies with respect to AP style and information gathering (triangulation techniques).
It’s a simple conceit, and so I hope you enjoy what you find on this blog. Yet, what, pray tell, will you find on this blog? Stories about Bigfoot, aliens, werewolves, vampires, stories of hook-handed madmen, ghosts, apparitions, cannibalistic families, and so on.
While I’m not much of a believer in all things that go bump in the night, I certainly do love odd stories and things on the stranger side of life. So, take this blog with a grain of salt and just enjoy the stories and occurrences that have happened throughout history and the world.
Thanks for checking out the blog, and I hope you stay tuned for future posts!
